SoftBrands Aligns Business for Strong Growth in Australia

SYDNEY, Australia, Jan 07, 2008 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX News Network/ -- SoftBrands, Inc. (Amex: SBN), a global supplier of enterprise application software, announced that it will now be responsible for all sales and support of SoftBrands' products throughout Australia. Previously, certain SoftBrands' products were sold and supported by a business partner, Trilogy Business Systems, which will now be focusing on its other businesses.

"This change will enable us to better position and reinforce our presence in this marketplace," said Harbans Singh, President, SoftBrands Hospitality, Asia Pacific. "SoftBrands is planning on stronger growth across Australia and we will leverage our existing customer base to grow this market organically."

This move to strengthen SoftBrands' position in Australia is viewed as timely, as this comes at a period of surging economic growth further fueled by increasing demand for hospitality solutions across the country. SoftBrands expects to increase its staffing in Australia two-fold at the end of 2008 to provide industry-leading support and services to its customers.

"There are many untapped business opportunities in Australia that we will capitalize on. To support this, we will be introducing our next generation technology as well as our standard offering of worldwide 24x7x365 support service," Said Singh.

SoftBrands' next-generation technology includes: Property Management, Central Reservation Management, Customer Relationship Management, Business Intelligence, Club Management, Spa Management and Point-of-Sales systems. The suite of solutions is designed specifically to enable hoteliers to centralize multi-property operations, to improve guest loyalty, to increase profitability and to improve revenue management.

"I am delighted by this strategic move as it provides us with more opportunities in the Australian hospitality market. This also allows us to better serve our customers and to further grow and expand our business operations," said Charles Gallen, General Manager, SoftBrands, Australia/Asia.
